Mark Ryden The Snow Yak Show Micro Portfolio
Mark Ryden’s “Snow Yak Show” I ordered from Amazon has arrived in early November.
This is actually the first Ryden book I bought and I’m still very excited about getting this copy.
I was introduced into his amazing work back in 2006/2007 when I bought 2 CDs by Jack off Jill and scarling. My favorite bands. (Also done Micheal Jackson’s Dangerous album cover art.) He has been one of my biggest inspiration since I saw his artwork for Clear Hearts Grey Flowers.
Came in 17 semi-large postcards printed on high quality. (Postcard Book)
Including all 8 paintings(From “Heaven” to Fur “Girl”.), 2 detail paintings of “Long Yak” and “Sophia’s Bubbles”,
and 7 sketched drawings from series.
Excuse the quality of the images. I can’t believe I’m actually uploading this. (((-_-)))
So I recommend you to go see it on the official page. (This really makes point of a reviewing blog…)
Micro Portfolio 6 The Snow Yak Show
The cute little furry creature on right is Ryden’s fictional animal “Young Yak”.

OH MY GOD! I can’t believe this, I actually saw this exact book when I was at the Kinokunyia bookstore in New York City! I didn’t have enough time to pick it up and look through it, though, I just saw the cover, but it was so striking I recognised it instantly.
Very nice purchase and nice eye! I can see why you like his work — It’s kinda similar to your own work. Well, from what I’ve seen of your wonderful layouts, anyway. ^^
There’s Kinokuniya in New York too?
Didn’t know that bookstore was so famous. xD
The exhibition was held in Tokyo and I didn’t have time to visit it, which I really regret,
its fun when the picture is big enough to see the details!
